Don’t even think about having a baby—let’s talk again if you actually get pregnant.” Vivi recalls visiting a gynecology clinic for preconception counseling several years ago, only to be deeply discouraged by the physician’s blunt words. The comment left the couple, who both adore children, feeling devastated and discouraged.

Vivi’s mother had a history of congenital progesterone deficiency and worried that the condition might be inherited.
